Petzl Boreo Climbing Helmet

Petzl Boreo climbing helmet is the brand new creation of the French brand conceived to replace the Elios helmet and conceived for a multipurpose use ranging from climbing, mountaineering, caving, to via ferrata and canyoning.

Boreo was born in the wake of an innovative change of philosophy and provides a new type of protection, called Top and Side Protection, and a new closing and adjustment system.

To date, the traditional Petzl climbing and mountaineering helmets that comply with the legislation relating to falling rocks from above, have a lateral band made of a thin sheet that would not protect you from a side impact.

Boreo is revolutionary because it guarantees total protection from falling rocks from above and from side impacts thanks to the new hybrid construction with thick ABS shell, an EPP foam shell and an EPS foam shell that promotes compactness on the head.

Petzl plans to reinforce Boreo in the two side bands with a layer of foam that runs through the entire internal volume of the helmet.

Boreo absorbs the energy of an impact, from above, sideways, frontally and from the rear.
