Petzl Simple caving descender is designed for semi-static single rope descent. Simple is composed of mobile aluminum side flanges and two fixed aluminum pulleys around which the rope slides, producing a friction that will become your brake.
When you find yourself facing very wet or muddy ropes, you can adjust the speed of descent bringing the rope downstream of the return to the top or descend in half a key.
Simple should be used with a return carabiner such as the Petzl Freino Z (click here to view the product) or in steel, such as the Pillar Steel by CT Climbing Technology (click here to view the product) or the Handy of Raumer (click here to view the product).
The Petzl descender positions him comfortably on the rope without having to detach him from the harness, thanks to his click.
Compatible with Internal aluminum pulleys are removable and replaceable.
Revisited in some details, the new Simple accepts ropes with a diameter between 8.5 and 11 mm and has the longest connection hole which allows the Freino Z carabiner to be overturned and making the descender unmissable in transfers from the material carrier to the maillon.
